This new production's CD and video have been sent to important chains in Argentina , Mexico and the United States as part of their promotional effort.

ANTROLOGIA, whose name is a tribute to the bars where they first began performing, is an anthology of their career. The production shows a clear evolution from their beginnings through today and highlights all of the musical achievements that have led CRUKS EN KARNAK to occupy a very special place within the culture of Latin Rock, both within and surpassing the Ecuadorian borders.

CRUKS, THE BEGINNINGS

The band started their career in 1989 and searched Quito 's bars and discotheques for places to introduce themselves to the Ecuadorian public, a public who needed local artists they could relate to. From that moment, they started a long journey that would lead them through the whole country, and later on, outside Ecuador . The band found themselves breaking social and generational barriers and reaching that very special place among Latin rock fans in and outside of Ecuador .

Their first performance was in a pizza restaurant and the band found it necessary to choose a name . Among rushes and rehearsals, they searched the encyclopedia for a combination of words that would have the meaning they wanted to give the band. Finally, they found Willian Crookes, a scientist who discovered fluorescent light, and with no specific logic, combined it with Karnak , an Egyptian temple located next to the ancient Tebas. Deciding that "Willian Crookes visits Karnak " was too long of a name, it was reduced to Cruks en Karnak . Its meaning is simply in the music that the band makes.

After secretly recording their first demo in 1990 with the song " La Caperuza " [Little Red Riding Hood] they won "Best Song of the Year, " an award from the radio station "La Bruja," earned by a popular vote. Later they produced their first album Tu Culpa [Your Fault] that had four songs, among them 'Al Borde' [On the Edge] and 'Haciéndose Aire' [Turning into air], hits that positioned the band throughout the entire Ecuadorian radio circuit.
